What is the point of tagging crop=grape on landuse=vineyard? What else can be a crop at vineyard? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 15:12, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

Not sure? I added the text "Generally this tag is not necessary, since it is implied by the main feature tag landuse=vineyard, and that feature is defined as a vineyard used to grow grapes".
Per Taghistory, it started getting popular in mid-2017 and has been climbing steadily since, not in big jumps. The map on taginfo shows extensive usage all over Europe and world-wide in the grape-growing areas. So it's real usage, for whatever reason. --Jeisenbe (talk) 12:14, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
The tag crop=grape has over 47,000 so it is ‘common’, 'frequently used’. Does that make it a ‘good tag’ ?

The tag is redundant when used with the main feature tag landuse=vineyard! Yet it is ‘common’. Why? Possibly because on the wiki for landuse=vineyard there is a suggestion to use it fairly high on the page – so it is prominent and before tldr takes place. Or is this an ID editor thing? Over 99% of the tag crop=grape are used with landuse=vineyard, yet only ~12% of landuse=vineyard has the tag crop=grape. Only some 0.7% may not have the tag landuse=vineyard, are these further mistakes or is this something that needs investigation? Removing it from any landuse=vineyard would do no harm and drastically reduce its numbers. Warin61 (talk) 03:38, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
