roof:direction
Where the information about roof:direction came from? I don't think that is correct: side_hipped is basically like gabled but with a hipped side added. In gabled type roof:direction=* indicates one of the two directions of the roof surfaces and the same should be here. The third hipped side is more likely corresponding with the roof:orientation=* indication. Please look at the two pages carefully. In this image you can see why this is more consistent as all four contiguous building get the same roof:direction value:
