Map a side

The chicane is often on one side. I think, i will be a good idea to defini this side, but how ??--Agaric (talk) 12:17, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

The page states that the key is both used for a single or a series of curves so there’s no way to tag this as of yet. My guess would be that you could extend the key through a :forward/backward suffix (the default being both), or a :left/right, in order to describes the direction of travel affected such as people can’t go in a straight trajectory. Both suffixes are already in use for different things, the former for traffic signs and such, while the latter can be used for bicycle lanes. --Lejun (talk) 05:57, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Difference with chocker

What is the difference with chocker ?? As i understand, the chocker give a restriction on the right et the left as the same time, but the chicane give a restriction, only one side. It's right ?--Agaric (talk) 12:17, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

I think that chicane requires car to change direction while choker may have just narrowing of road, with vehicles nor obligated to change a course. Chicane may have element where both sides are narrowing Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 12:35, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
Agree with Mateusz. As stated on the chocker page, it more often than not implies a priority given to one side of the two sides, dictated through traffic signs. --Lejun (talk) 05:48, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
Thinking about it again - if required course is just "a bit to left, a bit to right" (or "to right and then to left" on left-sided roads) then it is chocker - and if more turns are needed then it is chicane Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 09:32, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
