Choker vs. chicane ?

Is there a clear difference between traffic_calming=choker and traffic_calming=chicane or are these synonyms?--Polarbear w (talk) 11:17, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

Chicane requires curve while choker may have just narrowing of road, with vehicles nor obligated to change a course. In practice I expect a lot of overlap. I would say that chicane is a stronger form of a choker Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 19:02, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
As i understand, chicane is only one side. If the both side are restricted, it's a chocker. I am right ?? --Agaric (talk) 12:20, 11 September 2022 (UTC)A
I think that chicane requires car to change direction while choker may have just narrowing of road, with vehicles nor obligated to change a course. Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 12:35, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
Thinking about it again - if required course is just "a bit to left, a bit to right" (or "to right and then to left" on left-sided roads) then it is chocker - and if more turns are needed then it is chicane Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 09:33, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
