Translink is the brand name of the Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company (NITHCo)[1], a public corporation in Northern Ireland which provides public transport in the region.

NI Railways (NIR), Ulsterbus and Metro are all part of Translink. It is led by CEO Chris Conway[2].

Translink use of Open Street Map (OSM) data

Translink uses OSM data in various products for the benefits of internal and external customers.

These products include:

  • Translink Journey Planner – OSM data is used in the Trip Planner routing which includes road network
  • Scheduling Team – Use OSM to map all the routes including service and school routes.

Translink Data Services Team

The Translink Data Services team is a small but dedicated group which underpin the many digital products that form part of Translink as a whole. The team is responsible for managing and providing data.

The Translink Data Services team aim to contribute and help improve OpenStreetMap through review and updates that are identified as part of their wide reaching day-to-day activities, feedback from their extensive network of customer/public facing channels, and other Translink internal stakeholders.
