Ubud mapping project

Let's work together to create an accurate, information rich map of Ubud, Bali. The Ubud mapping project is part of the Indonesia mapping project.

Ubud is a lush village on the volcanic slopes of Bali. It is also a tourist hotspot for those who seek to get away from the busy life at home, and you find many spas as well as yoga practices in the area. Ubud is under heavy development with ever more hotels and villas popping up, and the roads are under heavy pressure from scooters, cars and one and another tourist bus.

Goals

One goal with mapping this area is to give the local shuttle bus effort a chance to blossom, and tie Ubud together with Denpasar and Kuta with bus routes, both private and public, to lessen the pressure on the roads. It is also to enhance accuracy of one-way roads, parking spaces and limitations to parking.

Making sure buildings of significant importance are mapped is also good to give people navigating a better chance at finding their way, as well as small shops and new enterprises to spread the tourist wealth that is deposited to local businesses, and all ATMs available in the area to make sure everyone has an alternative ATM if one is discredited for skimming.
