I live in a small village called Hechtel (part of Hechtel-Eksel, see the Wikipedia pages in Dutch or in English) in the northern of Belgium (Flemish region) not so far from the Dutch border, where I'll do most of my mapping. When I started on April 10, 2009 the immediate vicinity appeared to be a white blot on OSM, so I decided to do something about it.

Equipment

• HTC Touch Diamond smartphone running WM 6.1 and OSMtracker.
• QStarz BT-Q1000X Travel Recorder X
• Canon PowerShot A720IS camera
• PowerTank M from SwissBatteries

Mostly I use the HTC Touch Diamond in my car and the QStarz on the bike because of its small design. Main editing is done with JOSM on a linux system and sometimes Potlatch for touching up odd tags.
