Hi, I live in Belgium and I am mapping mainly the Namur area. I have a university degree in geography and I am very interested in free mapping.
I have a Tomtom Go 910 with the NMEAlogger extension. I convert the tracks to GPX with the free software LOGConv. I only keep the points where speed > 0. With this combination I get very good tracks. However recently I bought a GPS logger iBlue 747 and the performance is even better. I use a 2 Hz capture interval and I filter out all the data with speed = 0 and number of satellites < 5.
I have also a Garmin eTrex Vista HCx. Still testing it but seems quite good.
I map essentially the following areas :
- Liège (I was born there)
- Marche-en-Famenne (I lived there)
- Namur (I live there)
- Charleroi (I work there)
