June 14, 2022 regular meeting of the OpenStreetMap United States Board of Directors

Call to Order

Minh called the meeting to order at 4:30pm, Eastern Daylight Time, via video conference.

Present:

• Maggie Cawley (Executive Director)
• Adam Franco (Treasurer)
• Diane Fritz (At Large)
• Minh Nguyễn (President)
• Brian Sperlongano (Secretary)

Old Business

• The minutes from Mays’s board meeting were approved by unanimous consent

Reports

• The Executive Director (ED) provided an update to the board on OSM US’s activities over the prior month.
• Adam reported that OSM US’s 2021 tax returns have been filed.
• Diane reported that the Trails Working Group (TWG) continues to meet regularly and will be starting a pilot tagging project. The TWG continues to assess whether there are any gaps in the trails tagging scheme with regard to various categories of social and informal trails.
• Minh will be working to get the board biographies updated for the web site.

New Business

Brian presented an update to the board on the OSM Americana project. Slides: link

• The board and ED discussed opportunities for acquiring computational resources.
• The board and ED discussed strategies for using standardized media products for use in socializing OSM without outside groups and journalists.

• The next board meeting is scheduled for July 25, 2022 at 5pm Eastern Daylight Time.
