An  erotic shop or sex shop is a shop that primarily or exclusively sells erotic products, such as sex toys, erotic lingerie and underwear, fetish clothing, safe sex products (condoms etc.), and erotic games and gifts.

This tag also includes shops that sell pornographic films and magazines — the euphemisms "adult video store" and "adult book store" are commonly used to refer to sex shops that predominantly sell such media. Naturally, this latter category is in decline due to the availability of on-demand streaming and the internet.

For shops which primarily cater to lesbians, gay men, or trans folk, the tag lgbtq=primary can be used. Take care not to apply this tag to any erotic shop just because it sells fetish items, leather clothing, or BDSM articles often associated with (for example) the gay subculture. Often, such shops pride themselves on welcoming everyone interested in their products, regardless of their sexuality. Naturally, shops which advertise items specifically aimed at people from the aforementioned categories, usually do warrant at least lgbtq=welcome. When in doubt, ask the store.
