How is this different from sport=trampoline

I noticed there are two ways of mapping a trampoline park. Either Tag:leisure=trampoline_park or Tag:leisure=sports_centre + Tag:sport=trampoline.

To me, the second one sounds more logical, considering there are similar facilities for other kinds of sport which use the combination of Key:sport and Tag:leisure=sports_centre.

Is this tag different, or is there any other reason to have this tag? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nickel715 (talkcontribs) 18:26, 28 May 2023‎

sports_centre + sport=trampoline

The page recommends: For a trampoline in a sports centre use leisure=sports_centre + sport=trampoline. Why that? The wiki page for sports_centres says: "leisure=sports_centre is for significant facilities. For example single soccer pitch in a park is not a sports centre." I would rather tag a trampoline leisure=pitch + sport=trampoline or leisure=trampoline. The currently numbers are:
110 leisure=sports_centre + sport=trampoline,
127 leisure=pitch + sport=trampoline,
230 leisure=trampoline.

I tag them as sport_centres because these places offer possibilities to do other sports as well:
  • node 10251619542 sport = trampoline;dodgeball;workout;parkour;climbing_adventure;acrobatics;fitness
  • node 5352341966 sport = trampoline;parkour;climbing_adventure;acrobatics
  • node 4779939518 sport = trampoline;dodgeball;acrobatics
Jumping is the main sport, but not the only one. I wouldn't use leisure=trampoline_park because it's not supported as leisure=sports_centre. maro21 19:26, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
These examples are larger facilities; I assume one may tag them as sport_centre + sport=<list of sports> or as trampilone_park + sport=<list of sports>.
But my question was about a single trampoline (in a sports centre). I have to repeat my question:
"The page recommends: For a trampoline in a sports centre use leisure=sports_centre + sport=trampoline. Why that? ..." (for a single trampoline, not for a trampoline park!)
Before your edit it was
"For a trampoline in a sports centre use leisure=pitch + sport=trampoline"
If one tags trampolines in sports centres as sports centres this results in nested sports centres; this would be another contradiction to what the page for sports centres says:
"Note that you should not place the leisure=sports_centre on inner elements. Use this tag once on the outer area of the sports centre (One feature, one OSM element)."
This is not to say that I think leisure=pitch + sport=trampoline is necessarily a better tagging for trampolines than leisure=trampoline. Was the tagging of trampolines discussed somewhere else? Can we perhaps simply delete this sentence until that has happened?

Aaa, ok. I misunderstood this sentence in the article. Thanks for noticing, corrected. maro21 12:32, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
