Alternate image

The Template:Map Features:military table used the image File:Dscf1158 600.jpg (a picture of a helicopter taking off) rather than the aerial view currently used here. I think the aerial view is better, so I'm not going to change it, but I wanted to note it here in case others disagree. JesseFW (talk) 21:45, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

Doesn't imply aeroway=aerodrome

The current ValueDescription box suggest that aeroway=aerodrome is implied by the tag military=airfield - however, the main text suggests using this tag together aerodrome. I believe it makes the most sense to tag both features, since this way all aerodromes have the tag. --Jeisenbe (talk) 06:11, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

Military planes or military aircraft?

The current definition is specifically for "military planes". I'm wondering if that should be widened to the more generic "military aircraft", to include helicopters and drones? I don't think the definition of airfield is explicit to planes (e.g. [1], [2]). The related aeroway=aerodrome and aerodrome:type=airfield tag definition use aircraft (though it is noted that if it's solely helicopters to use aeroway=heliport or aeroway=heliport. Yes, I'd agree that "aircraft" would be better than "planes" --Fizzie41 (talk) 22:28, 29 June 2022 (UTC)
