Use this template with the syntax:

{{Not a translation|page whose language box the page appears in|reason|lang=}}

Use it to delete pages that appear as translations in language boxes:

  • check the links to the page with "Special:WhatLinksHere", and correct the links in linked pages (links that come through language boxes are not a problem)
  • Replace the entire contents of the page with {{Not a translation|good page name|reason}}
  • give a reason for the deletion in the 'Summary' field when you make this edit

See also MediaWiki Help:Deleting a page

If the contents of the page are useful but not a translation into the given language, move the page and replace the redirect with this template.

Unlike {{Delete}}, this displays a notice at the top of the page stating that a genuine translation can still be added.

If you would prefer to just propose the deletion of a page (and/or redirecting of the page), without actually removing the content yourself, then use Template:Delete proposal, and be sure to give your reasoning on the associated talk page, to kick off any discussion which might be necessary.

It will help the wiki sysops to deal with all these, if this delete template is only used in cases where the community has agreed upon the decision to delete, or where individuals believe (in good faith) that there could be no reason for anyone to disagree with the deletion. All the pages get listed in Category:Labelled for deletion. Also you can view delete pages in the order of last edits (sysops should prioritise processing pages which have been left a deleted state of a good length of time)
