Hi there. I'm Andrew, I live in Washington, DC and do mapping and GIS. I mainly edit the USA, Haiti, Honduras, Afghanistan and Pakistan, and on Humanitarian OSM Team tasks. I have visited those places and others, so it's a combination of local knowledge and remote mapping.
I organized the Georgia Avenue Youth Ambassadors Mapping Project and I believe that OSM is a great resource for people who want to use the data, a great way to engage local people in their communities, and a great way to build new skills for people. I think we should work to increase the size and diversity of the user base -- younger and older people, more ethnic groups, more professional and academic backgrounds, and so on.
