I am just cleaning up the Garmin GPS pages (trying to get the general info organized and all under OSM Map On Garmin etc.). Is your stuff at GPS Maps From OSM Data still current? The web service seems not to work.

No, it's no longer there, haven't maintained it since mkgmap has arrived. Nickw 22:46, 15 November 2007 (GMT)
using Freemap from Java
Hello Nick, I am looking for a better map-renderer for Traveling salesman. Currently I have a very bad one I wrote and the ability to download tiles but a better one that can run localy would be needed. How hard do you think it would be for me to use the Freemap-Renderer (from the page it looks like it's php-code) from java? Is it fast enough for interactive rendering?
Is that the current Freemap renderer? It's using Mapnik, like the main OSM renderer, but with a custom XML file. As far as I know you can't use Mapnik from Java but can from C++. Nickw 22:47, 15 November 2007 (GMT)
Countryside mapping interest
Someone was expressing an interest in countryside mapping here on the forum: http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=596 -- Harry Wood 12:31, 8 April 2008 (BST)
Hi Nick, thanks for updating the Android page :) But unfortunatly this is strictly created by a bot, so you have to modify the software2 template at OpenTrail itself. --!i! 21:24, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for contributing to the OSM-Wiki! Here's a tip to make your contributions more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how: You can pick the page from your list of contributions, edit the page description, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
- [[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are edit the page "Christmas Party 2012", you add the following code:
This will make the Page show up in the categories "Events".
Thanks again for your contributions! More information about categorization can be found in Category:Categories.
