Mapping evenings
Not that many people signed up for London/Summer 2008 Mapping Party Marathon/2008-05-21. Is User:Nickb in the office today? what's his excuse? he lives nearby :-) -- Harry Wood 11:45, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Nick and Steve are currently out of the country, as they have been at WHERE 2.0. Smsm1 13:27, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh yeah. so they are. Fair enough then. Guess I'll see you for a quiet drink tonight then! -- Harry Wood 15:20, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi Sean. The Peckham one tonight isn't looking too popular. I think everyone's concentrating on SOTM. I'm not very keen myself actually. Just listed myself in order to encourage others, but the weather's miserable and it's a long way to travel for me, so actually I think I'm going to skip this one :-( -- Harry Wood 14:18, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- I think it is more the fact that it is Peckham and it is raining. I've got a puncture to fix before I can get there. Mark and I will wait until about 2030, then head home if there is no one else turning up. Smsm1 16:20, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
I set up the sign-up list for the Mulberry Bush, just on the same page there: London/Winter 2008-9 Random Pub Meetup ...but I probably wont be around for this one. Looking at going on holiday. Anyway maybe you should call that the "OSM Christmas party", although in we did a really big one last year on a weekend day and people travelled in from elsewhere for it. -- Harry Wood 15:41, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Rail Map on test server
I can't currently login , but this is expected with the udpates as you explained :)
I was intending to start again with the rail-map using NPE and the 7th Series/ OS (1:25000) First Series as they come out of (C). (NB I need to check, but I think the 1:25000 might mark tube stations as well)
Another source of information for a rail map might be out of copyright timetables of sectional appendix dat,
but no-one seems too clear on when these would have been subject to copyright expiry...

Rail Map
Progress Update : Most of the Great Western railway in South West England is now mapped in this..
I intend to complete the GWR mapping in the next few weeks, and then plan to work roughly anti-clockwise out from London (starting with the Tilbury line).
I would appreciate a further discussion on this dataset, as I feel it's time it was opened up to collaborative effort, ( I wanted to mention it on uk.railway for example)
Also I'd like a discussion on how relevant portions of the dataset could be 'copied' back into OSM, which was part of the original intention of it..

Please add Russian standalone blogs to planet.osm
Hi! Could you please add both Russian blogs from OSM Blogs to blogs.osm.org? It's http://osmdigest.ru/ and http://whatosm.textual.ru/ . Thanks.
