A [W] plant nursery grows plants (often for sale), much like a farm grows crops for food. Unlike a farm, a plant nursery generally relocates the whole of the plants they grow, as living plants, rather than only selling produce produced from them. Plants being grown can include any type of plant, from flowers to trees, including Christmas trees.

Useful combinations

To describe more details of the plant nursery the following additional tags can be used:

Tag Description Notes
landuse=plant_nursery Defines that the land is being used as a plant nursery. The purpose of applying this tag must be for land that is used to produce plants to be later relocated. Any plantings of trees used to produce food should use landuse=orchard.
name=* The name of the nursery.
operator=* The name of the company/organization which operates the plant nursery.
plant=* The generic type of plant that is grown. Possible values: tree, herb, bush, grass, vine, fern, moss, green-algae
genus=* (avoid this if species is known) Scientific name of the genus (first part of the scientific name) Refer to [W] Genus for details.
species=* Scientific name of the species (popularly known as the Latin name). Please use the namespaces for local languages. Refer to [W] Species for details.
