Summary

Description
English: Emergency Exit, Ballroom of Romance, Glenfarne. Here again, the doors if they are anything like I remember at my local ballroom in the 1960's, were multi-purpose. In addition to serving as a means of escape in case of an emergency, they were opened to serve as additional ventilation, especially if over 500 people were occupying the building and the heat built up during the evening. I should say "during the night" because usually dances were not under way until 10 or 11 o'clock and didn't finish until 2.00am the following morning - more at 1089868
