DescriptionNew Utrecht Av 62 St ADA project (48322760487).jpg |
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) put four new elevators at the New Utrecht Av/62 St (D,N) station complex into service on Friday, July 19, 2019. The station underwent a major rehabilitation that included ADA enhancements such as braille signage, tactile platform edge strips, an ADA boarding area, wheelchair-friendly booth adjustments and powered exit gates to ease mobility and provide more transit options for thousands of customers in southern Brooklyn. MTA New York City Transit President Andy Byford and Alex Elegudin, Transit's senior adviser for systemwide accessibility, visited the station on Friday to try out the elevators, admire the new construction and thank employees for their work.
