A model shop specialises in the sale of scale models.

The models can represent planes, trains, auto-mobiles at any scale. The materials for example can be plastic, metal, wood, etc or any combination of these. The models maybe static or be self propelled possibly with some form of control.

The store may also sell paints, knives, glues etc. for the assembly and finishing of the models.

How to map

Set a node node at the center of the feature or draw an area area along its outline. Tag it with shop=model and name=*.

Tags used in combination

Similar tags

  • shop=toys - A toy shop. A shop focussed on selling children's toys. Model shops are often quite serious and adult targeted, and would find it insulting to be classified as a toy shop. Some model shops may have a lot of remote control cars and helicopters which are quite affordable "low-end" products often sold as children's toys. So there's overlap, but if a shop is full of such things and goes up to high end expensive adult "toys" then shop=model is a better more specific tag.
  • shop=craft - An arts and crafts supply store. Commonly sold items are paper, canvas, paint, pencils, crafting wood, crafting tools, etc.
