Chart?

  • hi, where is the data of the chart coming from? for what area is it?
    • The area is the whole world. I did not know how to express that and just wrote "overall". It is the result of a query on my database (see User:Emka/new OSB). More coming soon after more testing and hopefully after moving to PostGIS.
  • and closed bugs per period is usually only a small fraction (~5%?) of the open bugs?
    • The data says so, yes. The good message: more bugs are closed than created. There are more closed bugs in total than open bugs. I guess the main problem is that older bugs disappear soon and only appear if you zoom in. Even older bugs only appear if you fix enough bugs. Those problems will be solved by the new database. More details by mail and hopefully soon on the mailing list (when it is done). --emka 16:10, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Last update date of bugs_germany.csv

Hello,

at which time the bugs_germany.csv was last updated? I added a few Bugs Bugs a couple of weeks a ago and can not find them in the csv.--plaicy

Updates

Usually once a week. See stat table. If bug is closed bug is listed only one week longer. Interface is not extremely reliable. So it's possible something is missing. Not likely everything is missing. I found 7 of your bugs in the germany.csv. I will try to finetune my queries so more bugs will appear...

Thank you. Seems much better now.--plaicy 08:17, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Gary68.

It is now possible to get extracts of customized sizes: All bugs provided in GPX by the checks of Gary68 (allbugs.gpx GPX extract) --Gary68 12:30, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

script

I wrote a script that uses these reports and should be useful for people whose GPS receivers use short waypoint names. See User:Abunai/osdebug --abunai 13:12, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Other countries

Would it be possible to get a matrix over bugs divided by countries? I would like to see stats of Brazil, and I guess there are people who are interested in many other countries as well. --Skippern 17:29, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, yes. And no, unfortunately. As I wrote on the content page it is quite difficult and time consuming - and not reliable - to extract data from the current implementation of openstreetbugs.
  • One possibility is that you find an individual - such as yourself - to run these reports on a regular basis. The script is provided.
  • I just estimated an absolute lower limit of the runtime of such a venture for Brazil. The resulut is: 42h. But it is very likely you have to use other parameters and end up with much longer periods of time. Also it sometimes happens that the program gets stuck because the server doesn't respond any more. This usually happens every third run or so. I can't do that on my computer on a regular basis. (It is not a CPU but a network consuming process).
  • It is just being discussed on the talk list to migrate that OSB thing to openstreetmap.org. So that will likely be the solution to your request. Maybe you can even help doing that...
The simple problem is that it is not possible to obtain a stupid dump of the data - for whatever reason. And so we cant work on the dumped data and have to use the API for bulk data...

--Gary68 12:25, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Holy moly, if it is network consuming, than it is not possible for me to run the script from home, I do not have any shell accounts where I am allowed to run that kind of scripts either, so than I am stuck. Maybe it is time to do a complete rewrite of the OSB API and such scripts as to make reports and such? --Skippern 12:31, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Let's hope that it will be implemented in openstreetmap db soon. Code has benn donated by Xav. Now it has to be ported somehow. But regarding your problem. Do you have a special area you are interested in. Let's say something of the size of 1x1 or 2x2 degrees? I could do that (regularly) in the meantime for you. --Gary68 14:32, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Reliability

I am curious, what is the cause of this reliability issue? I noticed myself today that the gpx extraction mechanism from the very website produced an extract that did not contain some of the bugs that were visible on the screen. Rrr

Please ask Xav on the mailing list. I don't know exactly... --Gary68 16:53, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
