Single facilities as areas

Currently the page says: "Inside the education-area the different facilities should be marked as nodes or as buildings". I think it should say "… as nodes, buildings or areas" instead. Sometimes one or more of the facilities on a landuse=education use a clearly determinable area. If so, this should be mapped to as much detail as possible, as it would have been before the approval of landuse=education. A surrounding landuse=education may still be necessary, because the large area covering the different facilities has its own name=* etc. --Bstein (talk) 15:52, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

I would use that example of a named landuse=education with multiple distinguishable areas inside it in the documentation. It seems in line with the intent, the original proposal, and other proper landuse=* tags. --JeroenHoek (talk) 16:43, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/958250234, but I don't know if this is fully correct, since I haven't been there in person for a while. I don't know if it is correct in this example that the sports facilities belong to only one school. The amenity=school polygons should probably overlap in the area of the pitches. Maybe we find a better example. --Bstein (talk) 17:43, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

Multipolygon membership

Currently the page says: "This connection can either exist at the area itself, or as elements within this area, or through membership in a Relation:site". I think it should say "… at the area itself, or as elements within this area, or through membership in a Relation:multipolygon or Relation:site".

Relation:site says: "This relation is not to be used in cases where the element can be represented by one or more areas and neither linear ways nor nodes outside these areas would have to be included or excluded from within these areas. For example the tag amenity=school describes the perimeter of the school grounds, for schools with multiple sites the multipolygon relation should be used. For a university with sites scattered throughout the city, a multipolygon amenity=university with the campuses or buildings as role Role outer should be used." So, other pages should not encourage using site relations where multipolygons are sufficient. --Bstein (talk) 16:12, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

Render

Is possible render in the map the landuse of landuse=education in yellow how amenity=school (landuse)in order to render it how the scolastic type landuses (school, accademic, university...)? Alessandrocarmeli 18:07, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

It looks like this is stuck in Carto. --JeroenHoek (talk) 19:10, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
I would like to see that rendering too. The mentioned issue on Github was closed in 2014 because "389 uses for what is a very common feature, no wiki page", but currently the situation changed, so we should ask them to reopen this issue. maro21 19:27, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
I've added my thoughts on the bottom of that issue. Feel free to chip in. Current use stands at over 2300; not bad. --JeroenHoek (talk) 19:33, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
I've added landuse=education in all possible places in my city (around 100), but I will try to convince other mappers from Poland to use this tag, because as much as 60% of landuse=school (which we can replace) usage is in Poland. maro21 21:28, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
