I don't understand

"The entrance is usually free. This tag is for one or more aviaries not for larger bird parks." Could you please explain why you have written this? I thought that this tag is for a special kind of zoo sepcialized on birds. Why it should be usually free? And also how do you tag this "larger bird parks"? Do you have an example of such parks? I am confused. Chrabros (talk) 03:22, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

An example is Vogelpark Walsrode weltvogelpark.de. It is and should be treated like a zoo, there are just only birds. To tag the aviaries in this bird park with zoo=aviary would be doubly doubled.
The aviaries are individually or also several for pheasant, pigeons etc--geozeisig (talk) 05:54, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
It seems to me that this Vogelpark Walsrode should be tagged as tourism=zoo+zoo=aviary+fee=yes. So quite contrary to what is written on wiki now.
Tag zoo=aviary is not meant for tagging single aviary (voliere), but it is a kind of zoo specialized on birds. Chrabroš (talk) 00:41, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
The present occurrence is an single aviary. I looked in TagInfo and Overpass. Maybe zoo=birds is what you mean. We can create a page for that. --geozeisig (talk) 05:42, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
Hmm, I believe that current usage is for single aviary. But zoo=aviary requires tourism=zoo and I would not call single aviary a zoo. Do we want to recommend that on wiki? Chrabroš (talk) 06:02, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
I think that both belong together. The tag zoo shows the type of the zoo. You could use zoo:type correctly. But this was probably omitted because it is clear. Another example with two tags is historic=memorial + memorial=statue.
It is better now with the introduction of zoo=birds.
However I still don't like that a single standalone aviary should be tagged as tourism=zoo+zoo=aviary. It is not a zoo IMHO. Chrabroš (talk) 02:20, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
