Language template on list pages

Hi Julien, thanks to your edit and that you try to improve the wiki :) But to me it was the intention, to keep all the informations at Maps on a single (in this case english) page. Otherwise the distributed list entries get out of sync or spreaded over the languages pages like for example at OSM in the media.

What do you think? Do you agree and would you undo your edit, please? --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 10:53, 29 July 2011 (BST)

Hi !i!! You have reason. I understand, the official language for the wiki is the english tongue. So all informations at Maps must be in this english page. But, the local people has access at this page and translations are here to accentuate this accessibility, isn't it? So, I think it's not rediculus to have the language template. Currently, I am creating a french page redirecting to the existing page FR:Autres_cartes_en_ligne. Is it bad ? Best regards --JulienM 13:50, 29 July 2011 (BST)
Sure, translating the intro and putting a hint that all items were collected at the english page would be great :) But as said we should pay attention, that there is only one single page, otherwise people might miss something, just because it's only on a language specific page (that others might be unable to read). During my time here in the wiki I noted that keeping the pages synced is quite difficult for translators. A nice tool for that is to use the "watch" feature at the top right of the source and target pages. cheers --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 09:27, 31 July 2011 (BST)

Hello, I'm trying to revive this proposal: as I see that you've shown interest in the past, could you please help me understand how? Thanks, Nemo 10:14, 16 August 2012 (BST)
