Given the low number of continents, collecting this data on one's own is easy, depending on OSM data is not useful (moving, deleting or changing name of place=continent node would have massive impact on a map), and that it is desirable to tweak label placement for specific map, it is dubious whether this data is useful.

Also, "One of the seven continents: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, South America" is a subjective selection, there are competing methods to divide landmasses into continents.

Fortunately, seven nodes are not significant clutter and worth reduced risk of someone mapping continents in a far more damaging way.

The continents of the earth are tagged with this.

How to map

Add the place=continent to the appropriate node and name it using name=*.
