The tag fire_hydrant:diameter=* is used for the nominal diameter of the underground pipe going along the street that feeds (among other things) a emergency=fire_hydrant.

In some countries the diameter is the number on top of the hydrant sign. For example H80 stands for 80 mm and H100 for 100 mm. For this tag the unit mm (millimeter) is typically considered as default.

Do not confuse the number printed on the sign with the number that is printed on the hydrant, that instead is generally the diameter of the flanged connection between the hydrant and the underground pipe. This diameter currently is NOT tagged.
