origin=* describes the country or region of origin of goods sold by a shop. This key is especially helpful for shops which sell goods imported from one or a few countries.
This key is suitable for shops selling non-food items; for shops specialized in selling regional food items (shop=food), preferably use cuisine=* instead.

Extensions
Since origin=* specifically describes goods originating from elsewhere, the extension origin:service=* describes services originating from elsewhere. Altogether, goods and services originating from elsewhere are accounted for.
