Proposal

A building or a set of buildings placed outside any village/hamlet, where sheep are tended during the summer. Empty in the winter.

Rationale

In Romanian hiking maps, shepherd's huts are marked with a specific symbol (triangle on top of circle) since they can both help and hinder hikers: help by offering shelter, water (all year) and food (when inhabited) and hinder through the presence of guard dogs, which can attack hikers, especially if alone/in a small group

Tagging

  • Main tag - building
  • building = shepherd's hut
  • abandoned = yes/no
  • amenity = shelter
  • drinking_water = yes/no/conditional
  • I'd also like tags about general numbers and ferocity of dogs - this information is often discussed in Romanian-language hiking forums.

Applies to

Nodes, areas

Rendering

Rectangular triangle placed on top of a circle, looking a bit like a cartoon house.
