|
A count of elements of the feature.
This tag can be used if the individual objects are not mapped, but just one POI is added for all of them. Depending of the size and type of objects a separate mapping might be favorable.
Example use cases
These are some examples of where the tag is already in use:
- The number of bells in an installation (e.g. tower), on amenity=bell and man_made=bell
- The number of sports pitches. If two tennis courts are mapped as one area: leisure=pitch, sport=tennis and count=2
- A group of recycling containers with amenity=recycling
- bollards arranged in a row - if a road is blocked by three bollards, the node of the highway could be tagged as barrier=bollard, count=3
When not to use
The tag should only be used if no other, more specific tag exists. Some cases that should not use count=* include:
- if the number refers to the capacity of a POI, such as parking lots, bicycle parkings, people that can be accommodated in a restaurant - these are tagged as capacity=*.
- size of hotels and other guest accomodations - use num_apartments=*, rooms=*, beds=* ...
- number of toilets - use toilets:num_chambers=*
- seats of a bench - use seats=*
