Solid (usually concrete or metal) pillar or pillars in the middle of the road (frequently in plastic when bordering narrow lanes) to prevent passage by some traffic.
How to Map
By default access=no, foot=yes, and bicycle=yes is implied. If that isn't true, tag who can pass the node explicitly. Always place a bollard node before a junction node unless it affects all traffic across the junction in all directions.
Rows of bollards can be represented as ways, including closed ways: area=no is implied. If rows of bollards are laid across highways, make sure they share nodes with what they block since routing happens at the edges of area highways at present. Larger obstacles needing a representation as a surface for closed ways (area=yes) should use other barrier=* types (such as block or debris).
The bollard's type can be expressed in more detail by adding a bollard=* tag with an appropriate value.
