An important station stop along the route. A route typically has a via point to distinguish it from another route with the same origin (from=*) and destination (to=*), or because through service means the ultimate destination is not very well-known. For instance, a bus route (route=bus) may be formally described on signs as going "from Main Station to Newtown via Government Square".
How to map
Add the via=* tag to a type=route relation, along with from=* and to=*. If there are multiple via points, separate them with semicolons.
Only use this tag if the via point is commonly or officially used to describe the route, there is no need to manually derive a via point from the route geometry.
In case of more than one via stop, usually a semicolon ;
is used for separation the different values.
