Vending machines are becoming increasingly a part of everybody’s life, there is also a need to bring them on maps or in to routing devices. In most cases there should also be given a hint to the type of goods the machine offers.

How to Map
Just place a node at right place. Tag it as amenity=vending_machine for the type of goods there should be a vending=foo given. For example:

In Otherwise Covered Locations
Added because of an idea in the the discussion.
In the case that a vending machine is inside of an otherwise covered location, like a subway station or a pub, we could add a tag to that location like:
vending_machine=condoms
In that case it would not make sense to give more information as this could lead to problems of assignment of that data as the user might mix them up with the location itself.

Instead of vending=foo there is the seldom type=foo or vending_product=foo used.
