Bangladesh/OSMBD Community Town Hall Meeting/Meeting Minutes/2023-03-17

Thank you all who are joining us at the extended sessions of the “OSMBD Community TownHall Meeting” and joined us in the last session. We would also like to thank those who registered & showed their interest to join us but unfortunately couldn’t make it this time. We missed your valuable thoughts & inputs during the meeting. However, it was a real pleasure to have interactive & constructive discussions on how we can push our community ecosystem forward with a strong & inclusive coordination structure. In our last meeting, we joined together to discuss & take the decisions on founding an elected “Executive Committee” for OSMBD, constructing an “Election Committee” & a “Membership Drive Working Group”, and reviewing & approve the regulatory documents on the “Executive Committee” & the “Election Committee”. We are delighted to let you know that, we have been able to elect the “Chair” & the “Members” for the “Membership Drive Working Group” through voting during the meeting! Sawan Shariar has been elected as “Chair” and @Aminul Islam, @Mehedy Hasan Ovi & Laila Sharmin Nova have been elected as “Members” of the Working Group! We would like to take the opportunity to “Congratulate” the newly elected “Membership Drive Working Group” & hope they will successfully drive our “Membership Campaign”. There was also a call for nomination in the meeting for the “Chair” position of the “Election Committee”, to better coordinate the proposed election of the OSMBD “Executive Committee”. Azizul Alam Toton & Sajjad Hossen are nominated as candidates during the meeting. The TownHall decided to send out & delegate the decision to the broader audience by creating a poll & sharing the ballot to the "TownHall mailing list" to ensure majority reflection. @Aminul Islam voluntarily put himself forward as a “Member” candidate for the committee. Both the CoC Documents for the “Executive Committee” & “Election Committee” were put in front of the town hall for approval as finalized. A poll was created and 50% voted for it to be approved. Though a majority was reached, the TownHall decided to extend the timeline for the review of the documents for another week, and also decided to send them out & delegate the decision to the broader audience along with a poll through TownHall Mailing List. Anyone who wants to join the next meetings please keep an eye on the group & mailing list for the instructions for registration & updates. All our meeting minutes, session recordings, and draft documents will be open & available for you. Feel free to add comments & thoughts to make sure your voice is also heard.
