The Caribbean is a region of Americas covering:

• the southern part of North America (including the south-eastern part of Mexico, most countries of Central America except El Salvador, and all countries or dependencies of the Antillas archipelago, sometimes extended to the Bahamas and Florida),
• the northern part of South America (Colombia, Venezuela, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana).

Most of Caribbean countries (plus El Salvador) are part of Latin America (with the exception of Belize, the overseas dependencies from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the overseas territories of the United Kingdom, where either Spanish, Portuguese or French is not official).
