Source Notes
Sometimes there are discrepancies between FSTopo and the USDA maps. As a mapper and writer of this page but not a hiker, I have made these observations. When comparing both maps with aerial imagery, it seems that in general, when the USDA map lists a trail/road it is more precise than FSTopo. However, FSTopo sometimes shows roads/trails that do not exist on USDA map, which is supported by being visible on aerial imagery. Please be cognizant of this and check both sources before deleting/redrawing a way.
