Global Energy Monitor (GEM) is a non-governmental organization, incorporated in the United States as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which catalogs fossil fuel and renewable energy projects worldwide. GEM shares information in support of clean energy and its data and reports on energy trends are widely cited by governments, media, and academic researchers. GEM belongs to the Climate TRACE coalition of nonprofit organizations.

At GEM, staff regularly use OpenStreetMap as a source for geospatial data, and contribute to OSM in cases where both data sets may need improvement. All organized editing activities on OSM will be linked below.
