TM3 project creation checklist

We discussed the draft for the checklist and considered its present state as more-or-less mature. It turned out that a crucial point is how to deal with imagery. The majority considered it as too difficult for the majority of mappers if they should deal with several imageries and have to align existing mapping to some imagery. For the sake of simplicity the project manager should preferentially select the most appropriate imagery and ask to align this to existing mapping if necessary.

We should still add a reference in the checklist where to look for further explanations if something is unclear but we agreed that it is important to restrict it to a one-page document. The draft remains open for discussion until our next meeting. There was consensus that it should be provided as a pdf document so that it can easily be printed. It should be linked from several places such as the TM3 project admin guide on learnOSM, the project creation pages within TM3 and also from the learn section of TM3.

Other business

Discussion of the agenda for an advanced JOSM webinar had to be deferred to the next meeting due to time constraints.

Michael will conduct a survey among HOT mailing list subscribers whether there is sufficient interest to have a breakout session during State of the Map in Milan at the last weekend of July. This could be an opportunity to inform a wider audience about the scope of our work and attract more active participants.
