Goals

Importing all 41 bike sheds operated by Bane NOR in Norway

Schedule

Since this is a very small import we are hoping to get the blessing of the community to do a fast import. Dataset and permission from Bane NOR has already been obtained.

2023-08-17: Submitting import plan to Norwegian OSM community.

Workflow

  • Cleaning up the data in the spreadsheet provided by Bane NOR
  • Converting the data to a csv
  • Using the Open data extension in JOSM to convert the csv into an OSM XML file
  • Using the conflation extension in JOSM to comflate with existing data
  • Importing via JOSM

Conflation

We will be using the conflation extension in JOSM and manually go trough all conflicts carefully

QA

We will present our plan to the local OSM community beforehand, and ask for feedback on potential issues before starting the import. We will be careful in creating a search for finding existing Bane NOR bike sheds in OSM and do the conflation.
