Shunting and repeated signal tagging

Hi, I made two small changes for the shunting and repeated signals. They used the railway:signal:main and railway:signal:distant tags before, but more commonly these are tagged with the railway:signal:shunting and railway:signal:main_repeated tags. Hiddewie (talk) 17:28, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

This has been implemented in the OpenRailwayMap with https://github.com/hiddewie/OpenRailwayMap-vector/pull/876. These are only the basics. It would be nice to document the possible aspects (states) of the main signals, which will allow identifying the 3, 4 or 5 light main signals. Also the obstruction signals, diverging main signals and route indicators would be good to document. Hiddewie (talk) 18:41, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
