The tag has been used to record the name of a feature in varieties of the Norman language (such as Jèrriais and Guernésiais), which makes it a duplicate of the more commonly used name:nrf=*.

name:nrf=* is arguably the correct tag: OpenStreetMap follows the ISO 639 standards by convention[1], where the code nrm is reserved for the Narom language[2] which is spoken by about 2,400 people in Malaysia[3]. Jèrriais and Guernésiais share the code nrf (and the continental variety of the language does not have a code)[4]. (Wikipedia uses nrm[5] which may be the source of the confusion.)
