This category shows all Key:* and Tag:* pages in default namespace where the description in the sidebar does not match the one in the data item.

This means only the English language pages are listed.

This is a subcategory of Category:Mismatched description that shows pages from all language namespaces, including default.

Notice

In order to maintain the standard of tag descriptions on the OSM Wiki, consider the following guidelines:

  • start with a capital letter
  • end with a period
  • try to avoid words "key" and "tag": This tag is used to... → Used to.... However, sometimes they are needed and it's impossible to do otherwise, such as in the case of descriptions with deprecated tags.
  • don't use wiki markup, like e.g. ''italic'', '''bold''', {{tag|building|yes}}, [[links]]
  • don't use HTML markup, like e.g. <s>, <b>
  • link to other keys and tags using this syntax: key:shop, tag:amenity=parking
  • don't use the key/tag name, e.g. Tag building=yes is used to... → Used to...
  • try to avoid see also other=tag, we have separate parameters for this
  • the limit is 250 characters
  • don't use phrases like see description, see below
  • use " – " (space dash space) instead of " - " (space hyphen space).
  • don't use just tag's value in the description, add more info. A bad example is "Coast guard." as a description for "emergency=coast_guard".

This maintenance category may be occasionally empty. The empty category should not be deleted however, because it is needed for maintenance.
