A share taxi is a form of public or semi-public transport in which multiple unrelated passengers share a single taxi or small van, usually without booking the entire vehicle. Unlike a private taxi, the fare is typically calculated per passenger rather than for the whole trip, and riders may get on or off at different points along the route.

The key distinction from a bus lies in flexibility and scale. A share taxi usually operates with fewer passengers, uses smaller vehicles, and follows a semi-fixed or flexible route that can adapt to passenger demand, including unscheduled stops. Buses, by contrast, run on fixed routes and timetables, use larger vehicles, and stop only at designated locations regardless of how many passengers are on board. In practice, a share taxi sits between a private taxi and a bus: more flexible and direct than a bus, but more structured and communal than a standard taxi.
