A multiple curve hazard is a section of road which presents a risk to motorists due to multiple curves. Curves present a hazard of obscured visibility of oncoming traffic as well as a short turning radius. This tagging is applied to roads that are signed for dangerous curves and should not be applied indiscriminately to roads merely because they have curves.

The curves=* tag can be added, indicating the specific type of curvy road section ahead:

This table is auto-generated. See Taginfo/Taglists for a documentation on it.

How to Map

Tagging can be applied to the curved section of road or the location of the signage:

  • Place a node node at the location of the curve hazard traffic sign, tagged traffic_sign=hazard (or code) + hazard=curves.
  • Tag a node node along a highway=* way way at the location of the sign
  • Tag the section way of highway=* where the curve hazard is present.

Possible Tagging Mistakes

If you know places with this tag, verify if it could be tagged with another tag.
Automated edits are strongly discouraged unless you really know what you are doing!
