On 2013-12-07 at OpenHackChristchurch, a number of volunteers tagged new and existing traffic lights in Christchurch based on official Christchurch City Council Traffic Signal Plans. The tags added to highway=traffic_signals include:
- chchsid=* - the number linking to the CCC Traffic Signal Plan
- source=* - URL link to the pdf of the Traffic Signal Plan
The Traffic Signal Plans refer to an intersection as whole, if there are two or more highway=traffic_signals, then all the traffic signal nodes are tagged with both the chchsid=* and source=*.
