name:uk-Latn=* is used to store the romanized version of names in Ukrainian. This tag contains the transliteration of names from Ukrainian Cyrillic into the Latin alphabet.

On many signs in Ukraine, in addition to the name in Ukrainian Cyrillic, the same name is also provided in Latin script. This is done so that foreigners can read these names and navigate the area more easily.

Below are several examples of names from such signs:

name=*, name:uk=* name:uk-Latn=*
Олегівська вулиця Olehivska vulytsia
вулиця Грушевського vulytsia Hrushevskoho
Дарниця Darnytsia
Палац «Україна» Palats Ukraina
Оболонь Obolon

The names of many Ukrainian brands are Ukrainian in meaning, but are written in Latin script on their signage: the gas station Ukrnafta, the restaurant Veranda, the showroom Zelen, the cafe Mriya and others. Such names should be entered into the name=* tag as the primary ones, while the additional tag name:uk-Latn=* can explicitly show data users the language and writing system of these names.
