The key pets=* is sometimes used to indicate whether a feature or venue, such as a restaurant, cafe, mall, hotel, or beach allows pets to accompany their owners or sitters.

A pet, or any other type of companion animal, is an animal kept primarily for a person's company or recreation.

In many countries assistance dogs (such as guide dogs) may not be barred access from places accessible to the general public. Like dog=no, any use of pets=no should probably be understood with this exemption in mind (i.e., it is not necessary to explicitly allow access for guide dogs, because this is implied).

information sign

Do not confuse with pet=*, which is used to indicate the type of pet sold in a shop=pet.
