This property specifies a foot or hiking route as pilgrimage route.

A pilgrimage is a journey of moral or spiritual significance. Typically, it is a journey to a shrine or other location of importance to a person's beliefs and faith.

Values

  • pilgrimage=yes - specifies that the route is a pilgrimage route. The name is specified separately with name=*.

Some mappers have used the name of the pilgrimage route as the value, however this method is less common. For example:

  • pilgrimage=no has rarely been used to specify that a route is not a pilgrimage route
