Wikidata

An important station stop along the route. A route typically has a via point to distinguish it from another route with the same origin (from=*) and destination (to=*), or because through service means the ultimate destination is not very well-known. For instance, a bus route (route=bus) may be formally described on signs as going "from Main Station to Newtown via Government Square".

How to map

Add the via=* tag to a type=route relation, along with from=* and to=*. If there are multiple via points, separate them with semicolons.

Only use this tag if the via point is commonly or officially used to describe the route; there is no need to manually derive a via point from the route geometry.
