Infrastructure

  • way Bendungan Sepaku-Semoi
    • 11 June 2020 : The government will clear land to build a dam in the new capital city (IKN). The location is in Sepaku-Semoi, Sepaku District, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan. The dam is being constructed to meet the clean water needs of the new capital city. Several areas, including Tengin Baru Village, Argomulyo, and Sukomulyo Village, are part of the 378-hectare dam construction project. This includes 36 hectares for the dam body and 342 hectares for the inundation area. The Head of Tengin Baru Village, Ahmad Mauladin, revealed that he received a notification letter from the dam land clearing team stating that the process would begin in June 2020. A budget of Rp 80 billion has been prepared for the 36-hectare dam body. The Sepaku-Semoi Dam project is estimated to cost around Rp 700 billion. The Sepaku-Semoi Dam is included in the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) infrastructure development program for 2020-2024, along with 59 other dams. [1]
  • way IKN Airport
    • 12 September 2024 : The first landing of a passenger jet at IKN Airport went smoothly on Thursday, September 12, 2024. The Cessna Citation Longitude jet, owned by the Aviation Facilities Calibration Center of the Ministry of Transportation, carried Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, who is also Acting Deputy Head of the IKN Authority, Raja Juli Antoni.[2]
      • After the verification phase on September 8-9 and calibration on September 10, IKN Airport is ready to be used by the presidential aircraft while the President works in IKN. The airport, with a runway length of 2,200 meters, is targeted to be completed by December 31, 2024.
      • This aircraft falls under the jet engine class C classification, comparable to the Boeing 737. During the test flight, the aircraft flew at a ground speed of 880 km/h, comparable to the speed of narrow-body aircraft like the Boeing 737 or Airbus 320. The braking action on the airport's asphalt runway was deemed sufficient, as the test plane successfully stopped in a normal configuration before reaching the end of the 2,200-meter runway.
  • Sepinggan Airport - Balsam Tollroad
    • 28 August 2024 : Deputy Chairman of Commission V of the House of Representatives, Roberth Rouw, approved the proposal for additional budget for the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) for the construction of the new capital city (IKN) in 2025, amounting to IDR 20.32 trillion. The budget will be used for the construction of the IKN toll road section A1-B1 segment Sepinggan Airport - Balsam Toll, toll road section 5B segment P Balang Bridge - Sp Riko, toll road section 6B Outer Ring Road-Sp, construction of the VVIP airport, infrastructure development in the Central Government Core Area, construction of vertical housing for the military (TNI), procurement of Garmag in 47 ASN - Hankam Towers, construction of buildings in the Basilica & Church area, Coordinating Ministry Office, OIKN Office, National Mosque, construction of Wing buildings in the PUPR office area, schools, markets, and community health centers (puskesmas).[3]
