What is this about?

This page is about finding a way to tag, store and show objects in the OSM Database throughout their "lifespan". OSM should have a unified, easy to understand way to tag object in its planning, construction, disused and de-constructed stages and make the same objects available from the database after they have ceased to exist to interested people. All this has to be accomplished without or only minor disruption of current programming and tagging conventions.

What this is not:

A proposal that should be killed after one day of discussion (like the last one). If you don't like it, change it to a better one. If you don't see the sense of it, leave it to the people who do.
